Don't allow sending from a opened shared mailbox since it doesn't work properly

When a user wants to send a message using a different email address (or shared mailbox), my understanding is that the user is supposed to start in their own personal inbox and then switch the From field. This isn't intuitive and doesn't work properly according to PoliteMail support. So, PoliteMail should block this from being sent through Politemail because the result is that the message will have the individual as the 'From' field which is clearly not what the user wanted.

I think you are referring to Outlook's default behavior versus PoliteMail's default behavior. If you find that without PoliteMail installed that the 'from' populates for the shared mailbox when sending a new email from it, please submit a Request Support and we can definitely look into that.

I'm referring to a person going into the Shared Mailbox, click New Message -> enable PoliteMail tracking and sending it directly from the mailbox. PM support explained that this is not the correct way to send - that the person should go to their personal Inbox, open New Message, change the From field then enable PoliteMail tracking. My request is - if that's not the proper way to send, then don't allow the user to do it.

Hi, Eric. PoliteMail does support sending from a shared mailbox. Here is the knowledgebase article related to this feature: From Address Changes When Sending a Tracked Email. If this isn't working for you, please send a Request Support and one of our Customer Success Managers will be able to help you.
