With V5 of PoliteMail, there was a change in behavior in regard to the pre-flight test send. In v4.x, when creating a pre-flight email, the email of the person creating the email was put into the "To" field. In V5, the person the email is "From" is being populated into the to field. I've sent countless emails people we author on behalf of.
This change of behavior introduces unnecessary risk when it comes to users and prepping emails to large distribution groups.
Our logic is that by having the proper from in the preflight (which is based on the original email), is the best way to test and validate expected behavior and mail flow (permissions, etc.), and not accidently sending a preview email to the person we’re sending as (who would not need visibility into that).
